I bought a truck on ebay. The title has a repossession attached & lien released. My DMV wont register? HELP?

home repossession

The truck was in Chicago and i flew in and drove it home to North Carolina. My DMV is telling me that the title can’t have both a lien that has been released and a repossession attached. I called BANKONE [which is now Chase Bank] to ask for a letter stating that the lien was released in error, but they refuse to help me. I have contacted the guy[dealer in Joliet, Illinois] and he says the title work is 125% correct and that my DMV person is an idiot. I have to get this truck titled and registered to be able to drive it in my state and i’m getting no help from either source. If anyone knows of what i can do to get this straightened out, so i can drive the truck legally and have it titled and registered in my name, please HELP ME!!!!

Investing in Repossessed Properties: Get Started

tely, defaults on mortgages and property repossessions are becoming an unpleasant fact of life for many homeowners in the United Kingdom. However, what is indeed a tragic event for one could turn into a profitable opportunity for another. For first-time home buyers looking for a reasonably-priced dream home or property investors seeking a profitable investment, repossessed properties can be a good option.

Now that you are convinced of the merits and profits of repossessed properties, you might want to start an investment of your own. For most first-time home buyers or property investors, a good question is where to begin. My answer: scour around for a repossession list — a catalogue of the repossessed properties in your chosen area.

A repossession list, whether an auction catalogue or an online mailing list, can be a good source of first-hand information on the properties in the market as well as a way for you to compare prices to find the cheapest and best deals in town. Check to make sure the list is current and you are not charged much if at all for access.

Aside from a repossession list available through some property websites or estate agents, your neighbourhood newspaper or local housing authority could have some information regarding the availability of repossessed properties in your area. Now that you are all set to start your search, the perfectly-priced property may not be far away. Following these leads, you’ll soon find out that repossessed properties at bargain properties are indeed everywhere — if you only know where to look.

Many of the repossessed properties can be viewed and purchased at an auction sale. Most of these auctions are conducted quietly and without much publicity. Buying repossessed homes at auctions is definitely profitable if you know how to play the game.

First of all, keep in mind that a property auction is not a gamble or a game wherein the object is to win the prize at whatever cost. Remember that you are supposed to get a cheap property at an auction. Stick to your maximum bid price and do not go higher if you cannot afford it or if the price will eat away at your profits. Repossessed properties are supposed to be cheaper than new-builds or brand new ones. If the price is too high, then it is time to put down the paddle.

The property investment arena is one of the best avenues to earn a hefty profit in a relatively short amount of time. However, like most investment opportunities, there are some risks and potholes involved. Minimise these hazards by choosing your investment wisely and carefully.

Before you sign on the dotted line and hand over your hard-earned cash, make sure that you have done primary research on the property. Have you done a drive-by and checked the neighborhood where the property is located? Have you inspected the interiors of the property thoroughly and meticulously? Have you checked the legal papers of the property and are satisfied that there are no legalities that could give you trouble later on? Do the figures add up to still give you a lucrative profit or healthy savings?

After a healthy dose of research and some wise strategising, you could now be on your way to a profitable investment in the world of property.

Repossession Credit Report

A repossession on your credit report will cause you to pay outrageous interest rates and big down payments. A repossession is a very severe mark.

It will remain on your report for seven years. Additionally it will make it difficult to be approved for any new lines of credit.

It is possible for you to remove this mark from your credit report. Following is an explanation on how the repossession procedure works.

When your car is taken and then re sold if the lender takes a loss you will be responsible for repaying that. You will be sued and if you are found responsible a deficiency judgment will be placed against you.

The lender will report the repossession on your credit and if you have a deficiency judgment it also will be reported. Having either one of these marks on your credit will make it next to impossible to get approval for future lines of credit.

To remove a repossession; we suggest you wait until the car is re-sold. Additionally wait to see if you are sued for any damages or loss by the lender.

Then send a credit dispute letter to the bureaus to dispute the repossession on your report.

You can write this letter or hire a service to do it on your behalf. This letter must provide an explanation as to why the mark is inaccurate.

Once the bureaus receive it they will conduct an investigation into the listing. They will contact the lender and ask them to verify that the account is; yours, the reported dates, and the balance.

The lender is much less likely to spend the time or money verifying the item with the bureaus if some form of payment has been received for the debt. Therefore, we suggest waiting until payment has been made. If an item is not confirmed it must be removed from your credit report.

If you have a deficiency judgment you should dispute this mark too. There are rumors that the bureaus do not check public records when investigating a mark. That is where the bureau would find verification of a deficiency judgment.

In sum credit repossessions are removed every day. You do not have to keep paying high interest rates or feel embarrassed every time your credit is run.

Will a vehicle repossession (4 years ago) on your credit report prevent approval for a home loan?

home repossession

I guess what I’m asking is will it prevent your getting approved until the ten years is up?
I have mixed feelings about paying it off at this point but maybe if I could pay it off and have them not print the payment date…
Well it’s my husbands actually, before we were married he really didn’t pay attention to his bills while he was overseas in the navy and screwed up his credit so badly. Oh well, thanks. Just thought I would let you know because a couple of you sound rather demeaning. Not that it really matters I suppose.

When someone gets indefinite leave to remain?

home repossession

Where are they housed?

Because the temporary, all expenses paid for accommodation must come to an end when they get their ILR and work permit/National Insurance Number - they can then apply as “homeless” to their local council.

Just like unfortunate British taxpayers who may have lost their homes due to job loss, mortgage repossession, eviction etc.

However, these people will usually be judged “intentionally homeless” and left in a homeless shelter.

So what happens to the successful asylum seekers? I suppose they are going straight into the Council and Housing Association houses that should. be rights, be available to the British taxpayer?

Lots of foreclosures going on, it’s understandable for regular folks to not have the cash up front. Seen celebs houses going under and repossession of sports cars: Evander Holyfield, Ed McMahon, Aretha Franklin, Jose Conseco, etc….anyone have any ideas why some celebrities don’t buy their homes outright? if you’re making $6 or $7 million dollars a year or per movie, or whatever what are reasons not to purchase your $2 million home?

Stop Home Repossession Now!

Repossession can be a very unpleasant experience. It can have serious long-term consequences on you and your family, both emotionally and financially. Many homeowners are faced with the imminence of repossession because of a difficult financial situation that can be caused by a number of factors. If you think that home repossession is an irreversible process, you will probably be relieved to know that there are ways of avoiding the demeaning and unpleasant experience of losing your home on account of failure to make mortgage payments. Many people run the risk of losing their family home on account of misinformation. It is very important that you know all your options when you are faced with the prospect of repossession. There are several ways in which you can avoid eviction and repossession orders. You will eventually get to keep your family home, provided you make informed choices in your attempt to stop home repossession.

First of all, you are probably aware that the amount of money you will have paid the lender by the time your mortgage payments are over exceeds the retail value of your home by far. Therefore, the financial institution is more interested in receiving the payments you are supposed to make rather than in selling your property. In other words, the financial institution that has originally granted your mortgage loan may be open to negotiations and alternative solutions. Therefore, it might be a good idea for you to contact your lender and try to agree on a reasonable solution to making your overdue payments in order to stop home repossession.

Second of all, you can avoid eviction and repossession orders by taking out a second mortgage on your home. You can stop repossession by refinancing the mortgage and whatever other loans or debts you might have. This solution is worth looking into well before eviction becomes imminent.

If neither of these solutions works in your case, you are still presented with a very good option, namely selling your home for cash in order to avoid eviction and repossession orders. At first, this idea may not seem too appealing, which is only understandable. After all, a traditional sale process can be a very long and tiring experience, at the end of which you may not come out on top. However, if you make informed choice, you can stop home repossession and continue to live in your home even if you have sold it. The solution is fairly simple. All you have to do is contact a local investor with plenty of experience in the field of rapid property sales, sell your home fast for cash and continue to live in it as a tenant until you are financially capable of purchasing the property back from your buyer. Most homeowners who want to avoid eviction and repossession orders agree that this is the optimal solution. There are many investors that specialize in solutions to stop home repossession. After a careful examination of your situation and options, you will certainly come to the conclusion that selling your home fast for cash and continuing to live in it as a tenant for a fixed amount of time is the most equitable solution to avoiding eviction and repossession orders.
