Is it legal to rent an apartment, when you are 17?
My parents are catholic and as a result are way too strict I know it sounds awful to say but I really **** them and just want to get out. I have had a job for awhile now and I’ve saved up $7,300. I want to rent an apartment but is it legal to do when you’re 17 without a parent to co-sign? I can pay up front so I don’t need to borrow or anything.

You are still a minor and your parents are still legally responsible for you. Therefor, they must agree to you moving out and sign the lease for you.
Child Protective Services might be able to get you out of your home, but I strongly advise against this. This will ruin your relationship with your entire family, not just your parents. More than likely, you will end up in a foster home that will be far worse than your parents’ house.
I highly recommend counseling for you and your parents. Just because you think they are too strict does not mean they actually are that bad. Let an outsider evaluate the situation.

You think it’s going to be less strict when you’re out on your own? Man, do you have a life lesson just waiting for you on the outside; wish I could be a fly on the wall when the realization hits you.
You are going to have a whole new set of rules being forced on you when you are on your own, by people who don’t love you at all. Think about that.
Fortunately, you are too young to be able to enter into a contract so you won’t be able to get a lease on your own.

NO! You must be 18. You cannot legally enter into any legal agreement until you are 18.
