You are probably going to either cough up a good chunk of cash up front, or have someone cosign for the apartment with you.
Have you thought about trying to straighten out your bad credit? Its not easy, and it takes time, but it is majorly worth it in the long run because they pretty much base everything on credit these days, even your car insurance. Check out this website for help

Often listings that don’t mention credit or that even say “any credit” are available to people with bad credit. You will probably just have less choice and have to pay a higher monthly rent then someone with good credit.
